Family Swim Sessions – Face Everything and Rise

Registered charity, Face Everything And Rise (FEAR) have organised family swim sessions in Rotherham.

They work very closely with Sport England and Swim England to offer monthly swimming events, across England, for children and adults who live with varying disabilities, Educational needs and life limiting medical conditions. 

Rotherham dates:

  • 14th February 3-5pm
  • 6th June 3-5pm
  • 12th September 3-5pm
  • 7th November 3-5pm

Location: Rotherham Leisure Centre, Effingham Street, Rotherham, S65 1BL

Cost: £1.50 per person for 2 hours of swimming.

The next swim event is being held on the 12th September at Rotherham Leisure Centre. It is a fully accessible venue, with multiple accessible changing rooms, as well as a room with a ceiling hoist and a rise and fall changing bed (Changing Places).

As you may see from their website, the charity predominantly supports children who receive artificial nutrition and long term IV treatments, but as Sport England (and Swim England) have asked them to expand, they have opened their swim events to children (and their families) who attend SEN schools too. You are welcome to join, even if your child isn’t artificially fed (tube fed).
