Education, Health and Care Plans explained

Right to appeal

If your child has been refused an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessment, you can appeal this decision to an independent tribunal within two months of the date on your decision letter, or one month from the date of the medication certificate - whichever is later.

If your child has had an EHC needs assessment and the Local Authority decides the child or young person's needs can be met by the education provider in other ways, you have the right to appeal this decision, and the local authority must give you information about this.
